Angie Mertz

High School Instruction

Angie Mertz first partnered with Berea Academy 2022/2023 as a parent in the Wonder and Explore program. Angie’s’ love for education, art, history, and God led her to becoming an instructor in 2023/2024. She has a bachelor of science in history from Washington University in St. Louis and worked as a graphic artist for many years. After choosing a home career, Angie started and continues to operate a successful photography business. 

Angie brings a multi-format experience to Literature and History. Students are encouraged and led through understanding the text and the context. Angie is also a Tea Enthusiast, blending her own ingredients for specific flavors and experiences. She generously shares these brews with her class, complete with real tea cups. A lot of challenging subjects can be smoothed with a ‘good cuppa!’ 

For 2024/2025, Angie is bringing a new perspective on literature and history, built on a foundation of core skills. Angie is also offering Spanish 1 – a foreign language addition to our American Sign Language programs.
