Photography is an art form that has become increasingly accessible since its invention. Though equipment, processes, and materials have changed dramatically, the basic principles of good photography remain the same.
With so many people using a contemporary cell phone, pictures have become a wealth of visual information. Photos don’t have to be planned, organized, or proportioned. And yet, learning the proper use of light, perspective, and balance can turn a quick photo into a great photo.
As so often happens, “all old things become new again” – and the instant print camera is back! Instant Print cameras aren’t the polaroids of the 1960s and 1970s. Picture quality is impressive, while still bringing the joy of handing out a quick photo before saying goodbye to friends or family.
For the discerning photographer, a digital SLR is a winning combination of digital convenience and high quality imagery. Any student wishing to use a digital SLR will benefit from the same skills needed with any camera. Ms. Krista will also be able to help those aficionados adjust their hardware settings to suit the subject, light, and more.
In Modern Photography, Ms. Krista will instruct students in the basic principle of photography. Students will explore concepts through hands-on experiences. Peppered into the experience is photography history, important photographers, and the influence of photography on the world and its communities.
