All organizations knit together in unique ways. At Berea Academy Saint Louis, we follow a nonprofit model base for our leadership, with some special roles related to our mission. For the first 5 years of our work, we have been led by Judy Musick, one of our Founders. Beginning June 1, 2022, Beth Mennemeyer will step into the role as Executive Director.
Administration
Judy Musick was gifted with God’s vision for Berea Academy in 2017. Throughout the first 5 years of our organization, Judy served as the Executive Director – as well as Instructor, mentor, and all around “throw in a hand wherever needed.” In 2022, God called Judy to Colorado. From Colorado, Judy will continue to be a prayer warrior with Berea’s community, seek God’s vision for Berea Academy, and support the organization as she can from a few states away. Judy’s service to Berea Academy is bigger than most can imagine. It is with great gratitude that we say “see you online” to Mrs. Musick.
Beth Mennemeyer was recruited into Berea Academy shortly after its founding. From 2017-2022, Beth served as the Director of Operations. Beth has been the “nuts and bolts” of the show to Judy’s “vision and dreams.” With Judy’s retirement to Colorado, the Board of Directors has placed Beth in the Executive Director role for the 2022/2023 school year.
Support Staff
Linda Farley joined Berea’s administration side of things in 2020. Her dedication to data helps the directors stay on track. Linda’s attention to detail and clear communication helps us stay connected to our families, manage our record keeping, and move through the information highway.
Paula Koranda is joining Berea Academy beginning June 1, 2022, to serve as our book keeper. Paula’s skill with numbers and information continue our tradition of transparent and orderly finances, timely payment processing, and accurate payments.
Marc Brooks manages our website needs. His experience in computers and marketing gives us a special insight into managing our digital information. Thanks to Marc, we are able to offer a website tailored to our specific needs.
Department Leads
Berea Academy created the position of Department Lead to provide additional resources to all our instructors as well as administration.
Jen Hogan serves as the Science Department Lead for several years. She serves the instructors in her department with understanding, patience, compassion, and problem solving. Jen is a wonderful advocate for her instructors, creating shared resources and cross-grade experiences.
Amber Sobery serves as the Languages Department Lead. Amber’s specialty is in American Sign Language – a language that has helped her build a large array of multi-sensory activities and ideas for the classroom. Amber excels when coaching her instructors; her insight and ideas bring “outside the box” thinking into our classrooms.
Nikki Davis is joining the Department Leads team in 2022/2023. Nikki will be serving the art department, including visual and performing art. Nikki has a wide range of artistic skills, while her heart is compassionate and kind. We look forward to Nikki’s leadership in this department.
