Join Ms. Davis to journey through the changing landscape of animation. In 1928, Walt Disney Studios produced Steamboat Willie, one of the first cartoons with fully synchronized sound. In the 95 years since, animation has become an art form excelling at personal style and appeal.

Ms. Davis will lead students through major shifts in animation design, providing instruction in major subgenres. Students will learn how to recreate these styles, opening a new world of expression. This course is both art history and technique.

Syllabus available in August, 2023

Animation Journey – from Steamboat Willie to Modern Manga is open to students in Junior High or High School classes.
