Get ready to “Show Me” what you know!  Missouri State history is an important part of a student’s learning and experience. In “It’s My State! Missouri,” students will learn about the geography, history, people, economy, and government in their home state. The book will provide the structure for the class to jump in and explore our state. Additional worksheets or printed material may be incorporated.

In this course, students will also be coached through preparing and giving a class presentation. It’s a true embrace of our state motto: The Show Me State. Class presentations are a unique opportunity for homeschooling students. The guidelines, expectations, and due dates will be thoroughly outlined and communicated, complete with step by step guidance.

The highlight of the year is the “Living Wax Museum.” Students will study a famous Missourian. Students then create a presentation with a short speech. The project is completed with students dressing up as their Missourian and giving their speech to class and schoolmates. Students are invited to present their work at the Spring Showcase on May 9, 2025.
