Math Adventures is designed to supplement and support students in their home math program. The course features basics such as operations, patterns, money, and time telling. In addition to these important skills, students also learn different tools for problem solving. The group focuses regularly on number sense, learning to compose and decompose numbers. Students also work with manipulatives to understand shapes, dimensions, grouping, and factoring.

Math is also influenced by the reading selections for the Literature class: On the Banks of Plum Creek (a Little House novel), A Child’s Book of Poems, and Little One-Inch & Other Japanese Children’s Favorite Stories

Syllabus available August, 2023.

Math Adventures is the Thursday morning session of Wonder and Explore, paired with Literature in the afternoon.
