I am really excited to be returning to the classroom this August. I am a former teacher and missionary. I specialized in upper-level sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) along with upper-level mathematics (Algebra(s), Pre-Calculus). I have taught both locally and internationally in Thailand (YWAM), Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and my last year I was the head HS teacher for Linda Vista School in Blue Creek, Belize.
My formal degree is in Finance from University of Missouri-Columbia. I was also the head tutor for Mizzou’s campus run “Learning Center” tutoring center. I have also taught business related subjects like Personal Finance, Accounting, Economics and Finance.
Upon starting a family, I returned to a career in Banking. For about 10 years I worked as a Branch Manager and then as a Corporate Business Banker. Thanks to my husband Justin I now have a blended family of 7 daughters. The last 3 years I have stayed home to care for my 2 youngest (Emmie-4and Sophia-5) along with my older girls (Savannah-9, Mia-11, Isabel-13 and my step-daughters Kayte-15, and Gigi-18).
Helping my kids with their schooling during the pandemic really reminded me of how much I love to teach. My kids used the platform Google Classroom which we will be using in our classroom. It was an excellent platform to use for in person and online communication and teaching.
This year has been a huge milestone year for my family. Our oldest Gigi graduated from HS and is now attending the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Emmie-started preschool, Sophia started Kindergarten, Savannah 4th grade, Mia started 6th grade, Isabel 8th and Kayte 10th. Finally, me returning to work in a job I am passionate about!
