Wonder and Explore, Level Up, Core Concepts – and more!
Jessica Turcios joined the Berea community in 2018/2019 as the Campus Coordinator, bringing joy and excitement into the daily function of the organization. Beginning in 2019/2020, ‘Ms. Jess’ shifted gears to begin leading classes with students in elementary grades.
Ms. Jess was a key visionary for the Wonder and Explore program, offering enrichment classes for kindergarten – third grade students. Her voice, vision, and prayer helped forge the program, and her spirit and hard work have refined in the years since. Ms. Jess continues to be an essential voice for these students and their experiences, coordinating the other instructors and continually liasoning with director Beth Mennemeyer.
In addition to Wonder and Explore, Ms. Jess leads courses for grades 4th – 6th in our Level Up and our Core Concepts programs. She enjoys bringing literature to life through lively discussion, theatrical renditions, and real world applications of the ideas encountered in great literature. Jess knows God as full of color and life, bringing glorious energy into the classroom, making everything richer and deeper.
For 2024/2025, Ms. Jess is leading instruction in Literature for Level Up and Core Concepts. She is also busy with another year of Wonder and Explore Art (Wednesday) and Literature (Thursday). Additionally, Ms. Jess will be managing and leading a class on trading cards and board games as well as wrangling everyone into some P.E.
