Art with Ms. Jess focuses on introducing the world around us in a multisensory experience. Students learn art concepts and theory through play and activity, music, and stories. Most of all, students create art! Projects can vary from portraiture, painting, beading, and more. Ms. Jess provides key instruction in art theory basics, such as palette, color theory, perspective, and balance. Through hands-on creation, students build important skills that can be applied in a myriad of ways.
Ms. Jess is excited to offer brand new activities and projects while bringing back student favorites, such as the tissue paper lantern and paper mache.
Art is also influenced by the reading selections for the Literature class: Little House in the Big Woods, A Treasury of Beatrix Potter, and European fairy tales.
Art is part of Wednesday Wonder and Explore, paired with Science.
