In Science, students will use all their senses to explore the beautiful outdoor resources at Berea’s Southgate campus and engage in age-appropriate literature. Games, prayer, stories, and skill-building activities will encourage the children to observe, interact with, and record the natural world. The course will be driven by the children’s wonder and curiosity for both the beauty of God’s creation. Students will spend as much time as possible outside and should be dressed appropriately for the weather and for getting dirty.
Science is also influenced by the reading selections for the Literature class: On the Banks of Plum Creek (a Little House novel), A Child’s Book of Poems, and Little One-Inch & Other Japanese Children’s Favorite Stories
Science is the Wednesday morning session of Wonder and Explore, paired with Art in the afternoon.
