In Science, students use all their senses to explore and engage in age-appropriate concepts. Games, prayer, stories, and skill-building activities encourage the children to observe, interact with, and record the natural world.  The course is designed to invite children’s natural wonder and curiosity in the world around them. Students may spend time outside (weather permitting) and should be dressed appropriately for the weather and for getting dirty.

Favorite activities over the years have included insect studies, nature journaling, outdoor experiments, and food or craft making. Ms. Krisi is famous among the instructors for the year she made fresh doughnuts with the students during class!

Science is also influenced by the reading selections for the Literature class: Little House in the Big Woods, A Treasury of Beatrix Potter, and European fairy tales.

Science is part of Wednesday Wonder and Explore, paired with Art.
